Sex life goes up in Smoke

Impotence, or penile erectile dysfunction, is the repeated inability to have or maintain an erection. Smoking increases the risk of erectile dysfunction by around 50% for men in their 30s and 40s. Smoking is a major and avoidable hazard for sexual health. Given that two of the three main side effects of smoking on erectile function are acute responses to nicotine, then immediate improvements on stopping smoking are possible.

Since December 2000, Canadian cigarette smokers have been encountering the world's largest and most graphic warning labels. The labels cover 50 per cent of the principal display surface (front and back) of tobacco packages. Many include vivid photographs of some of the ravaging consequences of smoking. In Thailand, labels on cigarette packages trumpet warnings that smoking causes impotence and many other nations are considering similar actions.
Hmmm so though there is a general perception that sex is important for men is wrong. Its not important to men who smoke.

Men who think that smoking boosts self-confidence and enhances their manliness to attract the opposite sex should find a mirror and see for themselves how the effects of smoking can turn off women.

Your hair may be thick and sleek now but continuous smoking weakens the immune system making you more vulnerable to diseases such as lupus erythematous, which can lead to hair loss.
Smoke gets in your eyes, too. Using sensual eye contact to express your feelings to someone special will probably have communication breakdown. Smoking causes and worsens several eye conditions. For example, 40 percent of smokers have cataracts, a clouding of the eye lens. Researchers have explained that smoke causes cataracts by irritating the eyes and it might be related to the body releasing chemicals into the lungs that flow up the bloodstream to damage the eyes.

Sending the sweetest smile may ruin your first impression because of the yellow teeth and plaque caused by the habit. Smokers crave for cigarettes in the same way children are obsessed with sweets and both cigarettes and sweets have one thing in common - they contribute to tooth decay. Dentists also warn that smokers are one and half times more likely to lose their teeth.

As smoking prematurely ages your skin, you will look older than non-smoking guys. Skin depends on many nutrients to keep it in good health. But when you smoke, it will deplete the skin of vitamin A, wear away protein that gives the elasticity, and block blood flow. Therefore, wrinkles and lines, especially around the lips and eyes, will appear earlier than you want them to.

Smokers' fingers and fingernails become yellowish-brown from the accumulated tar from cigarettes. The only way to avoid this problem is to develop some special ability in smoking hands free. Or wear gloves, hardly practical when lighting up.

Smoking reduces blood flow to the penis thereby causing impotence. Moreover, infertility is more common among smokers. Smoking can damage sperm and the DNA it carries, which can cause miscarriages or birth defects. Some studies have found that men who smoke have an increased rate of fathering a child who contracts cancer.

Another sexual disturbance is that smoking diminishes the sperm count.

From these health problems, smoking doesn't help make you a prince charming and it actually damages your masculinity. Guys, if you want to preserve your precious sperms, and have children to extend the family tree, then you have to quit smoking.
Virile Marlboro man, all smoke and no fire

PS : ONLY FOR SMOKERS
1.Were you aware of the health risks relating to heart and lungs
2.Were you aware of the health risks relating to sexual dysfunction
3. Were you aware of the health risks to those around you who inhale the smoke. ie passive smoking
4. Were you aware of the other health risks I have mentioned i.e eyes, hair, skin, sperm count etc.
5.Are you aware that smoking is an Addiction.
6.Do you think that the fact that leading cigarette companies now mention in the packs "Smoking causes sexual impotence" in some countries and that they do not protest against antismoking campaigns which mention impotence , add more validity to the fact that smoking can cause impotence.

Please note the label says "smoking cause sexual impotence". But while writing I mention "smoking CAN cause sexual impotence" and I have been more broadminded than the cigarette companies.
Please be sincere in your answer. I dont smoke and neither does my spouse. If I could take some time in researching for you, surely you can take few minutes in writing the replies

  1. Smoking and impotence..... hmmmm... China and India have some of the hightest smoking rates.. per capita cigarette / bidi consumption... and both countries are bursting at seams with population... of course that has nothing to do with a rock solid erection....

  2. cyber gipsy,
well i doubt if the cigarette companies would include or allow the anti smoke campaign to mention the impotence angle if it werent highly possible to say the least.

reproductive age could be in thirties and the impotence stage could come after that.

  3. This post is regarding your post on smoking, I mention this because otherwise you'll wonder what I am talking about.
I think ciggys are really bad for health. I am also a pack a day kind of a guy. The thing is, I never did it to look cool (may be at the start, many many years back - but I realized that in my case I looked rather foolish). I always did it because it made me feel comfortable around people. I felt empowered, and the best thing about smoking is the fact, that you don't have to stand around doing nothing.
You can be engaged in a constructive activity even during your downtime. It makes me feel good, defintiely less anxious, and more comfortable.
I have been thinking of quitting for some time. But I don't know...

  4. thankfully blogger gives the link of the post in the comment notification:)but thanks for being thoughtful..

well in a way i can emphatise with u.. its sort of what coffee is for me i guess. and i dont drink just because of how it tastes but for how it makes me feel.

most of the things we do or dont do has to do with how it makes u feel.

first forget that smoking is constructive.. how on earth can it be???

next time u reach for one, just delay it by 10 minutes..

or cut down atleast one a week..

do quit slowly gradually or the patches...

btw this post did help a blogger:)
when i first started on the bloggin field i was hurled with abuses by blogger and it did make me wonder if i should quit blogging. but when i saw a comment on his smoking, wrote this post immly after a quick research.. and well he did quit and he is my blog bro now :)
