Aargh Diaries - Cricket Catastrophe

There are still some souls in India who think cricket is a waste of energy. OK OK I will be specific - men's cricket. (They dont have an opinion on women's cricket because, though they reached World Cup final, most dont know they exist.)

But what no one considers a waste is the post series analysis. So what if the Indian team has a laptop, software etc, I wonder if any computer can compete with the billion opinions which will be discussed now.

Well what can we do when India wins? Party all night, burst crackers, distribute sweets and tell the next day wow did u see the match etc? So we will have some commentators singing praises and we will have to endure the cricketer who is the flavour of the month, in few more ads.

But when we lose :

We can moan and groan at parties and say Indians are not tough enough mentally.

Discuss that cricketers come in too many ads. (Never mind we wouldnt imagine boycotting even a soft drink they endorse.)

We can focus all our energies on criticising the team. And now our life would have a goal, which will be for the welfare of the nation.
Now every Indian (except those on the team) will have one common enemy - Indian Cricket Team (never mind the hunger, corruption, maternal mortality rates, neonatal death rates etc).

Its good for team spirit too.
Neighbours who will turn the other way to cries of help, will agree over chai, coffee or cold drink, on who needs to be sacked.
Colleagues who wouldnt see eye to eye on a project, will agree whole heartedly on Tips to improve Team Spirit and Team Strategy. (err Cricket Team of course)

I will have to check with Saas Bahu Expert Ekta on whether Saas Bahu will agree on the national disgrace and also if she will feature Saurav in a Serial - Kyonki Commentator bhi Kabhi Captain tha (and let Saurav have a gala time criticising every cricketer on earth)

Never mind the Men's cricket team not doing their job, tommorrow the main job at work for many would be to unanimously criticise them. Supreme Court can say they will function inspite of Ram Navami, but it cant say, Indians should work inspite of a Loss. (Especially after we lost to Pakistan. What a national disaster and shame na..).

Of course the Indian public have been denied their treat and Ganguly was not the captain, and everyone's blue eyed boy was the captain during the last 2 matches. (Grrrr why didnt Afridi give Saurav a torrid time?).

But that will not interfer with the media having a glorious time.
There will be polls on who is to be sent to the chopping block.
Advise from cricketers who earlier didnt perform, telling the team where they went wrong.
And last but not the least, match fixing will raise its head. And now the media will wonder if any hidden camera will work any wonders (for their ratings of course). And even if proof is not there, one can always talk of that possiblity.

Mushji sure knew about timing. Whats important to Indians, the team winning or plight of Kashmiri pandits? Well if what gets discussed is any indication, its definitely the former. Hmmm, perhaps he thought if India won the whole series 6-0, we might not care about giving him some chunks of Kashmir. And well think of it the other way too. If Ganguly had been the captain and lost the series 6-0 and Manmohan had agreed to some compromises, who would have been in media's headlines, Ganguly or Manmohan? OK OK I wont ask dumb questions.

Well I would write more but I am now going to join others, to check if there are any TV cameras in my street and confess my Despair, Dejection, Distress, Disillusionment, and Declare its a National Disgrace and Demand that the entire cricket team be Banned, Jailed, or Drowned depending on the channel in question.

And along with the nation, I say Aaargh.
No, not at the team losing.
No, not at the time I spend on watching it and discussing it...

Aaargh if only BCCI could be sensible and appoint me as the next Coach...

  1. oh what a calamity..i am not sure but if a survey was to be done, then i am sure the consumption of alcohol must have gone up by 200% all over the country, as people tried to drown this humiliation (??..ofcourse we lost to pakis)

  7. yeah xxx what a calamity and definitely more serious than a woman dying every 5 minutes in India to maternal mortality and that deserves discussion, expert programmes and endless programmes on it not on why women should die when its preventable.

and what a pity it was not Saurav and just Dravid who lost badly

  8. Hi, nice post.
"Grrrr why didnt Afridi give Saurav a torrid time?" I loved this line :-P :D
yeah...cricket is our national obsession...but i think...post ganguly post Wright...indian cricket team is back to square one...the team all of a sudden seems destined for chops and chnages...(yuvraj flopped..bowling dept. seems unsettled....God, well God, as usual came up with a century and then went off to sleep...afterall bhagwaan daily thode hi na darshan dete hain ...). Dravid is gonna have a torid time under the hammer/scanner whatever....lets se what happens.....but surely "those days were the best" ...hope Dravid is able to re-create those days......And Yes Thx for the Links on my Post.

  16. gud even gay...read ur cmmnts...may i please...

below r the imp aspects of the post:

Well, this post is not to debate about the way people dress… BUT, don’t we as a civil society, have the right to point out what’s RIGHT & WRONG… when it comes to ‘behaving’ ourselves in public? The moot point is: Why ‘show-off’ more than you can chew?… Please go ahead and attract attention, but not for the wrong reasons. It sucks!

    Now...the answers:

I had clearly mntnd in the post reg. the public display or behaviour in public....There is nothing wrong in suggesting these people… who would want all that they have to… hang out….to maintain social decency. Maybe their parents / friends / colleagues / well-wishers…Yes! whats wrong in suggesting them?

ur post: would u molest your sister if she is without purdah. what if she is ur rakhi sister? Its all in men's mind. and being male is no excuse. there r plenty of men, who are comfortable with it think there is a limit, no point in gettin hysteric at everything at the same time no point in toleratin everything...

ur piece in blogspot: If there is a window display, its to attract the shopper, it will not justify a shopper stealing the stuff, and saying it was done only because it is displayed. Display doesnt mean its available.

vinuchander's post: Just jealousy, simple plain old green envy.... telling that a girl has a nice figure is natural but why comment on her character. For a start, parents should stop holding boys and girls apart. why shouldnt girls be as free as you are?

many bloggers hv cmmntd that: my belief is to dress according to the occasion + to dress in a way not to distract others - talktome

But my advice to these trendsetters is: always remember this guiding principle, "Open your arms to change but don't LET GO of your VALUES." - isabella

is it ok if they dress like that in the parties, discos and pubs and come out wearing a burkha on the raods and beaches....... - kavitha

u shld dress depending on the place u intend to visit. if the females were to visit upmarket pub then this kind of dressing was appropriate. for office...office wear and for going out shopping on street...its better to wear something in which u get only accepted and required attention. - amar

I agree with amar on this, acc to the place you visit, you have to dress accordingly....xxx

Well....it all depends.....as long as it does not affect the ethnic value of our nation...... - forgiving

just draw a line between sexy and sleazy thats all... - mahesh

but seriously...i think wearin anything's okay..as far as u can carry it off...and if ur wearin the rite thing for the rite kinda place/occasion/watever - crap

a fun ride in Mumbai local trains, which I usually hate, but still cannot stay without it. I experienced what is 'teasing' for the first time in life, apart from what I had seen in Hindi Cinema. A group of young boys made comments over my GF. Sexual comments. Oh, and I didn't get angry. They didn't touch her, nor did any physical harassment. What I thought is they got satisfied, by teasing her, so why carry on the fuss? We left the train and had wonderful evening, and so on.... - eray

Of course I would not like to join them in their gay orgies, etc, but just because they are gays, we can't stop being friends.... - eray

Yeah: Wud i molest my sister?...I WUD tell her in no uncertain terms as to what is public/private behavior...She cud sashay in nude in our house...if she wants? Who bothers? WIll the world come to know of it? But, in public she better behave herself properly....

there r plenty of men, who are comfortable with it think there is a limit, no point in gettin hysteric at everything at the same time no point in toleratin everything...Oh! Yeah! Which Men? WHo are those benevolent guys? WUd they feel happy to shop along wth thier mothers/wives...if they wear jeans that show all their undies or blouses that expose all their bo***?

Display doesnt mean its available...AGreed! But, doesnt it induce STEALING?...in this case, if ur sexily dressed in public, for what are you dressing? WHere is the need? ARe people postitutes, to show off thiers & attract customers?

why shouldnt girls be as free as you are?...DId i say that? They should be free...DO men go out with thier zippers open? SHow me how many men do that? Do men go out without their shirts/pants in public? Do they let it all 'han out'?

Gay...arent we all proud that we are indians? WUd u let your own daughter go out in micro-minis in public & not be worried which son of a bi***, wud do anythng to her? will you say...its ok, mate...no probs...WHy the fu** India's looked for its value systems by all over the world? Is is bcoz', we are like westerners...why in the world ppl throng to learn abt our ancient scineces etc.. Why the fu** ppl in the west look for spitiual upliftment in our systems?...Dont they have it their country? why come here?

I AM NOT A CULTURAL POLICEMAN....Please remember...All i want to emphasis that we need to draw a line... a firm one...thats all...

In the name of westerness...dont ape them to the last T...DOnt you have ur own self-respect?...DO they ape ours? Ask any westerner & see how they stick to their culture, whatever it maybe...But, we are Indians, you see.... We dont mind anything....IN a year or two...we would even fu** on the roads? so what? Its my wish?...who the fu** are you to stop it?....And there will be guys who will say...cmon mate enjoy...its free...

Yeah! the final word is : There are many a SANE voice still left in our country...IF THIS SHOWING OF PUBLIC DISPLAY is 'freedom'...then as well, please go ahead & show in those countries which accept them...NOT HERE...LEts stop acting PSEUDO... Theres nothing wrong in suggesting these people… to maintain social decency & decorum...

    Tnks & gud night gay...

  17. gay its me again..

then whats the big deal about other dress.

when u dress, do u dress for yourself first or for others. well there are many women, who dress for themselves first.

well if this is your logic...i dont have anything to say...

i cud go on & on...BUT...i feel u dint catch my point...

    ReplyDelete
  18. you say if a dress is indecent, dont expect decent remark,
similarly if u have a title like this, perhaps you should expect an answer like this, or shouldnt you?

cmon...this shows tht ur on the verge of insecurity...go ahead my gal...dress wht ever the way you want..who stops you...teach ur daughter karate...kick boxing...

who cares?...GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!...ALL this time...i dint feel what one of the cops said...ive mentnd in my post..

BUT WHAT HE SAID WAS TRUE...I guess...

ps: I would appreciate if you cud refrain frm cmmntng on my TITLES...I knwo what i am doing...

  19. oshin i have replied in ur blog

    ReplyDelete
  20. posting some of the comments which had been in form of reply to oshin

oshin, do u think madisar mami are sexy. thats what you implied in the previous post.

and if madisar which is longer in length in than the regular Indian sari, is sexy. then whats the big deal about other dress.

when u dress, do u dress for yourself first or for others. well there are many women, who dress for themselves first.

if i had a daughter i would tell her to learn karate, judo or kick boxing. and not depend on others to rescue her. tell her lecherous men dont need an reason , just an excuse to misbehave. they would leer at her even if she wore a madisar or mini. she should simply learn to protect herself and yeah hit them where it hurts. sincerely that would be my advise.

and oh i forgot to answer to the title, of the post "choli ke peeche kya hai"
in filmi style, can i answer, kyon ma ka doodh nahin piya kya aur tab dekha nahin kya?

you say if a dress is indecent, dont expect decent remark,
similarly if u have a title like this, perhaps you should expect an answer like this, or shouldnt you?

oshin got ur comment in my blog.

well u urself in the previous post had mentioned madisar mami, not me.

and pray whats indecent about madisar. and u worry about people wearing western dresses. when i wear madisar its going a step backwards to the sari.
what is indecent, does it reveal the thighs like in micro mini? or the breasts as u mention in ur comment (breasts which come out of blouse or whatevr)
those who wear madisar in mylapore or where i live surely wear blouse.

then why the comment on madisar mamis of mylapore?

its not what a woman wears or reveals which prompts reactions from Some men.

    i got the 2nd comment.

i wrote it not to offend anyone's sensibilities. but was just answering rheotric. after all even i have a mother and was a mother.

but if you dont want a blogger to comment on your title perhaps you should mention it in the post.

oshin if u think i expected a guy who comments on madisar mamis to think that its not the fault of girls in minis , then you are wrong :)

and oshin with due respect, no need to address me as "my gal". :)

    ReplyDelete
  21. oshin if u think i expected a guy who comments on madisar mamis to think that its not the fault of girls in minis , then you are wrong :)

Time as they say, the best healer! …Heal it did… Engrossed with madisar mamis of Mylapore (Kindly check it out with gay/wd/g3… what it means, if at all! Sorry gay, hope u wudnt’ mind) …

gay...this was wht i wrote..yeah! what is so demeaning did i mean abt madisr mamis as you say?...u feel i have offended madisar mamis...NO....

but if you dont want a blogger to comment on your title perhaps you should mention it in the post.

similarly if u have a title like this, perhaps you should expect an answer like this, or shouldnt you?

So whatz wrong in my title...SEX sells in o3 too..why dont good posts get so many views or commnets?

The title is only to entice...DOnt compare this wth dress, for god's sake...i am not wrting anythng VULGAR or PORN to entice bloggers...neither my objective is to get noticed on o3...as u have a aim to blog..me too..

why the heck i shud I mention in my post for bloggers not to cmmnt?...i am GAME...if u guys want...i cud give you my mail ids./address...no prob...

    ReplyDelete
  22. well the title is not vulgar just enticing to you.
and well a dress can be just enticing and not vulgar to a girl. did i answer anything out of context?
you said choli ke peche kya hai, and in the first line admitted its a "sexual innuendo" .

ok clarify what you meant when u said in your previous post "Engrossed with madisar mamis of Mylapore" . i will tell you whats not demeaning. if ur mom wears a madisar and had walked along with them, would u have made a generalised statement like that? if yes, its NOT demeaning otherwise, but if you get upset with my draggin ur mom in this, you probably meant it as demeaning.
i am not a mind reader, so dont know whether u meant it to be demeaning.

i have seen guys leer at these mamis too (no i dont mean u). my point is simply this, men who leer will leer, irrespective of whether a woman is wearing a madisar or mini.

i have already clarified that good posts by an active blogger can get plenty of comments.
do check for example just one of my blog - coffee. a good blog doesnt enticements. just comment in other blogs, and people will comment back its as simple as that.

but of course what you put in ur blog is ur business. and if u rather that i dont write my offensive comments here , all you have to do is to mention and i wont comment.

I would like to clarify that just because you wrote a post doesnt mean to me that you indulge in eve teasing, molestation, sexual harrassment at work etc.

My objection is not personal against your views, but simply against those who indulge in these deplorable behaviour and give excuses similar to those mentioned in your posts.

There is nothing else for me to say. you are entitled to your opinion and i am entitled to mine. And so irrespective of what you say, i am going to stop and say i will agree to disagree.

I am aware that when discussion is on issues like molestation etc , when i drag in moms and sis its unpleasant for many guys, I didnt intend to offend anyone's sensibilities, but if I have, I apologise. You can always complain to oshin, and oshin is free to delete my comments.

yeah! my mom too wears madisars...so are my wife/sis & the whole khandaan...the sntence..Engrossed with madisar mamis of Mylapore" ...was in humor/jest...no sexual offense meant..

As i told u earlier...i am not wrting anythng VULGAR or PORN to entice bloggers...maybe my headings may look cheap...& sexy...NOT my posts...I cud show u hazaar posts that have shit inside & nothing in the title..

just comment in other blogs, and people will comment back its as simple as that.

    yeah! fine...tnks...ill take it...

and if u rather that i dont write my offensive comments here , all you have to do is to mention and i wont comment.

WHY?..Still I consider ur a good friend...ur a excellent writer...admired by all...me too ( i had told you that many times!)....But, when you felt offended that casually I mentioned 'my gal'...prob u dont want me to be your frnd..no probs..

would like to clarify that just because you wrote a post doesnt mean to me that you indulge in eve teasing, molestation, sexual harrassment at work etc.

My objection is not personal against your views, but simply against those who indulge in these deplorable behaviour and give excuses similar to those mentioned in your posts.

YES! agreed...please mention in no uncertain terms that...in ur comments please...

You can always complain to oshin, and oshin is free to delete my comments.

Why should Oshin delete?...Oshin is a simple guy...who shares & believes in frnshp...he doesnt offend anyone...

Finally...gayatri...cud we renew our frnshp?...please reply...gud night & take care...

    Well just for the record.
there is nothing wrong in writing about sex.
and those who write on sex need not be desperates who want to attract attention.
and its not necessary that everything on sex has to be vulgar:)
